Gemini Omni is the multimodal generation play — video out from prompts, with refinement steps. Gemini Spark is the new positioning bet: a $100-per-month personal agent that integrates with Gmail, Docs, and Workspace immediately, then expands via MCP to third-party tools over the summer. Google called Spark "your 24/7 AI agent." Translation: this is Google's answer to OpenAI's Codex Mobile, Anthropic's Claude Code, and the entire agent layer fight.
The developer platform. Antigravity 2.0 is the announcement that should worry Cursor, Replit, and Cognition's Devin most. It is a standalone desktop application built entirely around agent orchestration, plus an Antigravity CLI for terminal-driven agent control, plus an Antigravity SDK for programmatic access to the same harness that powers Google's own internal products. Managed Agents now ship in the Gemini API. AgentKit 2.0 ships 16 pre-built agents and an A2A — agent-to-agent — protocol. Hardware. Android XR glasses ship this fall, with Gentle Monster — a real fashion brand — making the first design partner pair shown on stage. Samsung's "Intelligent Eyewear" partnership was confirmed for the fall window. Google is doing what Meta could not — get the glasses category onto faces that look stylish first and intelligent second.
Pricing. AI Ultra repriced to $100 per month with 5x the Antigravity usage of AI Pro. Translation: the free frontier-AI era is closing. Anyone serious about agent workflows now has a subscription cost.
The strategic read. Google I/O 2026 was not a single product launch. It was an agent stack release. Every announcement — Spark, Antigravity, Search agents, Universal Cart, AI Inbox — sits on the same agent harness, with the same backing model family, behind one new $100 tier. This is Google answering the Anthropic-took-law and OpenAI-put-Codex-on-your-phone storylines with a unified counter: an agent for every layer Google already owns.
